Bring Your Improv Into the Air Workshop by Neÿa & Azeret

What is this event?

Improvisation in ropes is a completely different experience than repeating the patterns. Riggers love it because they don’t have to remember complex sequences of steps and knots. Models love it because they never know what will come next and therefore they can let go of expectations and fully enjoy an authentic session. Improvisational ties often bring a different mindset for both partners, due to the fluidity that creativity enables.

You can improvise in many ways; you can make new patterns, harnesses, knots, shapes and most importantly, new experiences. The sky’s the limit.

In this workshop, you’ll explore how to:
– Find confidence in trying new ideas
– Play with chaotic/unstructured improvisation to really feel your frictions and knots
– Discover “structural improvisation” – adapting known ties to fit any body in suspension
– Let creativity flow, whether on the floor, in partials, or in full suspensions

Saturday: Chaotic Improvisation

We’ll start on the floor and explore unstructured, playful chaos. This helps you deeply understand frictions, knots, and rope flow, skills that are invaluable long-term. Think of it as freeing your hands and mind, while building confidence to try new things.

Sunday: Structural Improvisation

Here we bring more intention into the game. You’ll learn how to adapt existing structures to different body types and shapes, especially in suspension. What may not feel like improv at first will open up into endless possibilities for creative play. From floor-work to partials to full suspensions, each participant will explore at their own level.

🇬🇧 This event will be held only in English.

🔥We welcome riggers and models from the Romanian (Bucharest & other cities) community and international participants! 🔥

To attend this event, it is mandatory that you have attended a Consent Workshop.

Who teaches at this event?

Both Nëya and Azeret are models as well as riggers from Prague, Czech republic. They have been tying together for more than 4 years now and they teach together for most of that time.

Nëya and Azeret are highly focused on exploring individuality and uniqueness of both riggers AND models and on rope bottoming topics. They are trying to teach practical ways to explore rope, body and mind, always tailoring content of the workshop to the group of students to make the best fit. Their own style is a wide range of technical as well as emotional approaches. They will tie seriously with a more traditional approach and many ropes as well as explore crazy minimalistic ideas. Goal of Nëya and Azeret is to be truthful to themself and do what feels right at the moment.

Who can come?

This is an intermediate workshop designed for couples or play partners (rigger + model) who want to explore creativity in suspension together. All exercises will be scalable, so you can tie at your own level whether that means staying on the floor, experimenting with one or two uplines, or testing improvisational structures in full suspension.

Riggers should be confident with single column ties, solid rope handling, frictions, and safe suspension lines.
Models should know their limits, understand the difference between nerve compression and blood flow restriction, and be comfortable communicating in ropes.

Note: Participants will be allowed to suspend partially or fully based on their skill level. Switching couples are welcome, there will be enough time for everyone to switch during each exercise.

All bodies, genders, and orientations are warmly welcome.
