Rope Work 4
What is this event?
Rope Work is a 4-day convention for rope educators, performers, rope venue owners, and people looking to build communities around rope bondage.
The format of this event is an unconference, which means there will not be a dedicated leadership deciding discussions or any self-declared experts. Anyone can propose subjects, present subjects, or open a sharing circle, which will help us learn from the experiences of every single person. You can be a veteran or someone who wants to open a new rope space, and you are more than welcome to join us.
This event will be held in English.
Who can come?
Rope teachers, community organisers, people looking to make safer spaces, veterans concerned with dealing with consent violations and creating safer events, organisers unsure of how to make spaces more inclusive – all of you and more are welcome to Rope Work 4.
If you want to build a community around rope or love facilitating spaces for rope, Rope Work is the event that will inspire you. You will find support from others who have been in the same spot as you. You will get to share your stories and discover answers to your concerns. Don’t miss out on the chance to be part of something great. To get the encouragement you need and offer motivation to others. We want to hear all of your experiences, we want everyone to get a chance to share their bits of knowledge and most of all, we have to support and help each other. You can propose subjects you feel confident talking about, or you can bring up subjects you would really like to hear other people’s opinions about.
Participants will receive an email confirmation to attend only after they have been selected; we want to make sure that we have a good balance of both performers, teachers and venue owners so that everyone can start the meaningful discussions that will make their journey a bit lighter. After receiving the email confirmation we will keep you updated with information about the event. You will also receive an email reminder close to the event so you don’t miss it. We look forward to meeting you soon!
We reserve the right to select event participants.
What happens at the event?
Join us from November 7th to 10th, 2024, at InFLUX, in the vibrant heart of Bucharest. InFLUX is Romania’s first sex-positive, inclusive space and hub for rope and BDSM enthusiasts. Celebrating almost 2 years of community and connection, InFLUX hosts a large community of rope enthusiasts.
The 4th edition of Rope Work will start on Thursday evening with a small social event so we can get to know each other and continue for 3 full days on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with discussions catering to various groups of rope community builders. We do understand that some of you won’t be able to take that much time off so we will offer you the option to join us later, on Friday. Let us know in the registration form when will you be able to join.
This is not a conference where we gather to learn ties or new techniques but where we learn how to be better founders of safer spaces, events, and hubs for those interested in rope bondage. If you want to discover how to structure your workshops, deal with consent incidents in the community, what it takes to open up your own venue, or how to legally protect yourself as a rope performer, then this is the place for you. You can ask questions, explore potential answers with like-minded people who have been there already, and inspire other people to find their own path.
📋 Fill in the Rope Work registration form listed below with your details and what you hope to achieve by attending. Your input is vital—it will help us organise discussions and activities that matter most to you. We encourage you to propose discussion topics you would like to present during the event. We will compose a list with the proposals received and we will send an email before the event with a form containing the list of subjects so you can vote what are the most relevant topics you would like to discuss about. Based on your collective preference we will organise the schedule for the first part of the day for Friday and Saturday. During the whole event you will have the possibility of suggesting and initiating group conversations as we will keep the schedule dynamic and flexible, offering multiple places where discussion can be held in the same time, and the topics will be determined by the interests of the attendees. This is more than an event; it’s a collaborative journey. This isn’t just a series of workshops; it’s a chance to come together to learn from one another and create a strong network of support.
We’re looking forward to building a practical, supportive, and insightful event together.

Who organises this event?
We, Kitty, Băje (InFLUX), and Haag (Ellipsis Rope Events Foundation), were so impressed by our participation in the previous editions that we feel this event simply must happen again. It is not our concept, but we believe it to be such an important happening. We have tried to make the event as accessible as possible, price-wise and we are here to answer any questions you might have. Simply drop us a message on our Contact page form or text us through our WhatsApp number (+40723258105).
This is the 4th edition of Rope Work, the second one we are organising with the hope that the 5th edition will be passed on to anyone one of you who have attended a previous edition.
