What is this event?

Improvisation is the act of making or doing something spontaneous, often either unplanned or using a score. Improvisation techniques are developed and used in many performance arts, such as theatre, public speaking, and dance. These techniques allow us to act freely within a framework of our choosing, and can lead to the feeling of freedom within a supportive framework.

Many of these techniques can be applied to rope bondage, a practice which often is often improvised; many perhaps start with a tie, an idea, or a framework, and tie together freely with that foundation, adapting what happens in a session to the moment and the needs of the individuals involved.

In this workshop, we will touch upon several methods of improvisation and how they can be used in rope bondage. We will learn what a “score” is and how it can be used to build a session, explore how to use partner dynamics to direct our play, and how to use other tools besides rope to influence a session (such as costumes, toys, music, set, and setting). We will bring in the understanding of what a ritual is, and how ritualization can be used as a means for setting the tone of a scene. And finally, we will discuss how improvisation can be used when constructing a rope performance, experimenting with short performance scores of our own during the workshop.

Who teaches at this event?

Saara Rei is a kink workshop facilitator and performance artist with a background in music, dance, education, and public speaking. Saara has been practicing Japanese-inspired rope bondage since 2014 and works generally around the exploration of suffering, both physical and emotional.

Swen Brandy has been active in BDSM fetish photography as Carnivore Pictures for over 18 years.  His special passion is play shooting, which combines BDSM & fetish with photography/films.  His core topics include the creation of body and mind challenges, impact play, rough body play, playfight, body guidance / body manipulation, as well as the design of creative game scenarios for private or professional use.

What happens at the event?

Schedule with breaks that applies for both days:

10:30-11:00 – Doors open for entrance of the participants
11:00-14:00 – Introductions & first half of content
14:00-15:00 – Lunch break
15:00-18:00 – Second half of content

Please note that the workshop will include additional shorter breaks, that will be agreed upon with the participants during the event.

Please be on time so as not to disturb other participants. We cannot guarantee that someone will be available to open the door for you after closing time. We only accept on-time admissions to any events since you might miss important information.

Who can come?

This workshop is appropriate for the beginner as well as the experienced, and both the bunny as well as the rigger will have a part to play in each exercise (in other words, bunnies will have something to learn and practice too). The intention of this workshop is to bring a greater awareness to how we interact with each other’s bodies while tying and to begin building a toolbox for communicating better with our bodies (to complement our words).

Workshop participation fee

➜  12 tickets – 250 RON / 50€ per couple of rigger & model (switching during the workshop will be possible)

The tickets are available only per couple of rigger and model, and you both have to fill out the RSVP form in order to secure your spot. There are no tickets available per person.

In order to secure your place for this workshop, you need to pay a 100 RON advance of the event fee. You will receive more details on how you can secure your place in the RSVP confirmation email.

📤 Please bring your InFLUX card! The event requires that you have attended the Consent Workshop. We will check at the entrance if you have attended it.

Requirements as a (r)igger and/or (m)odel:

– Basic knowledge of safety (r/m) and which physical symptoms related to the three major nerves of the arms (r/m)
– Understand and be able to communicate in basic English (r/m)

Required equipment for (r)igger and/or (m)odel:

– You will need at least 6-8 natural-fiber ropes of 8m in length (5-6mm diameter) 
– (optional) Warm clothing or a blanket for after or between ties (m)
– (optional) pen and paper to take notes (please note that typing-noises on laptops can be very distracting while we are explaining content and thus is not allowed during tuition) (r/m)

The Workshop will be quite intensive. We recommend you come rested. You are only allowed to take pictures of your work and your partner (with consent). Taking pictures of (any part) of other people is NOT allowed. Please do not use flash photography since this can be very distracting for others. Video or audio recordings are not allowed.

The area has many parking spaces, especially in the evening or after 6 pm. The metro station at “1 Decembrie 1918” is the closest to us and it’s only 8 minutes away, on foot.

Take the small elevator (it’s behind the large stairs on the ground floor) to the 5th floor, where you will see the sign for InFLUX. One more flight of stairs up, and you’re there. If mobility issues prevent you from climbing up a flight of stairs, you can take the large elevator, which will take you straight to our door, but that one is much slower.
