InFLUX Code Sharing: a new way to bring trusted people in

Starting next week, March 9th, we’re updating our entry system for events that require an InFLUX code.

If you already have an InFLUX code, you can now vouch for (vet) up to 3 new people and bring them into the space,  as a way to support growth without compromising safety, consent culture, or community standards.

What changes?

Each InFLUX code holder can share their code with a maximum of 3 people, who will receive a temporary card linked to the person vetting them.

That temporary code will look like this:

• 0000A
• 0000B
• 0000C

(Example: if your code is 0000, your vetted people will use 0000A, 0000B, or 0000C.)

⚠️ How it works at events (important)

First visit = they must arrive with you.
The first time someone enters InFLUX using a temporary code, they need to be accompanied by the person whose code they’re using. A temporary card is issued, valid for 6 months.

RSVP rules

To have their RSVP accepted, the new person must:

• fill in the RSVP form using the vetting person’s code + the letter
  Example: 0000A
  

After that first visit, things get easier.

Once their temporary card is issued, the new person can join events independently, using their temporary code, for a period of 6 months.

During those 6 months, the new person has also the opportunity to:

• attend one edition of our Consent Workshop
• receive their own personal InFLUX code (and become fully independent in the system)

‼️ If they do not attend a Consent Workshop within those 6 months, their temporary access will expire, and they will no longer be able to attend events that require an InFLUX code.

The responsibility piece

When you vet someone into the space, you’re not just inviting a guest, you’re vouching for them.

This means:

• You carry responsibility for the behavior of the person you bring in.
• You are expected to make sure they understand:
  • the house rules
  • the consent policy
  • the general etiquette of our events (boundaries, communication, privacy, and safety)

If someone you brought in is not aligned with our values, repeatedly disregards rules, or causes harm within the space, this will impact their access, and may also impact yours.

In such cases, we may:

• limit or remove their access to events
• review your ability to continue vetting others
• and, where needed, ask you to revisit a Consent Workshop to realign with our shared practices and expectations

This isn’t about punishment, it’s about protecting the space and making sure we continue to grow with care and accountability.

What vetting means (in our context)

Vetting is the process of screening someone to make sure they are a good fit for a consent-focused community space.

It means being able to say:

• “I trust this person to respect boundaries and rules.”
• “They understand consent beyond just words.”
• “They can take feedback and be accountable for their actions.”
• “They will treat this as a community, not a spectacle.”
  

Vetting is not one-sided. New people are also encouraged to ask questions and make sure InFLUX is the right space for them.

Why we’re doing this?

This system exists to:

• keep InFLUX safe, intentional, and values-aligned
• allow trusted community members to bring in people they genuinely trust

offer a clear pathway into the community:
temporary access → Consent Workshop → personal InFLUX code

We want to make it easier to bring in people who might otherwise stay on the sidelines, not because they don’t belong, but because timing, logistics, or hesitation get in the way.
