InFLUX opens its doors once a week
for rope practice nights

When some of the team at InFLUX started getting interested in ropes, some 5 to 10 years ago, we ran into a lot of trouble. We did not know how to put up safe suspension points or how to really find willing people to tie or be tied by. But the biggest problem for us was consistency. We would learn a tie, but would not get to practice it for weeks or months. And that made progress really slow. We really want better and easier for you. So, we are starting the weekly practice nights at InFLUX.

What are practice nights?

Anyone who has attended the Consent Workshop is free to join us. Every single week, we hope to get at many of you tying or bound up in ropes and get that consistent practice in. But there is no pressure to do something during the practice night either. It is totally fine to come on over and just see what other people are up to. 

And you can make this practice night whatever you want it to be. Bring a picture of a pattern you saw online but have trouble figuring out yourself! You are sure to find people to untangle it with. Bring over your new technique for treating ropes and share it with the rest. Or just get comfy and keep trying that single-column tie on your own ankle. 

What do I wear and what do I bring?

This is a laid-back evening for all. You can bring your own ropes, but don’t worry if you don’t have your own set yet. You can still use the community ropes and borrow some carabiners from us! You can bring some snacks if you want to share them with the group and chill all evening long. We want to open the space up to rope enthusiasts because we know from our own experience how much this matters in really feeling like you are evolving in ropes.
